Shoilo Propat is one of the most famous and visited natural fall in Bangladesh. During the rainy season the flow of this fall becomes vigorous. The water of this fall is so cool and transparent Near the Shoilo Propat there has grown up two or three village for the availability of water. It is a good source for drinking water and household use for the local community.

There is a small market near the Shoilo Propat for trade local peoples handicrafts, handloom products and food. Visitor can closely see the struggling lifestyle of this region community.

Information for the visitors

There is no arrangement for food & accommodation in Shoilo Propat. Visitors has to carry drinking water and food with his own management. But there are some tea stalls nearby the Shoilo Propat.

There are available of auto rickshaw, private jeep or “Chander Gari”(public jeep) to go from Bandarban town to Shoilo Propat.

Nearest Tourist Spot

There are many tourist spots very close to the waterfall. You may also pay a visit to the nearby mini safari park, zoo, and a hanging bridge. Near Megla, in Tigerpara, a tourist site named Nilachal has been created for the visitors by District Administration.

Transportation and Communication

The site is 481 kilometers away from Dhaka, and it may take up to 9 hours to reach the spot via Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. One may also reach the place by train. Many train services are available from Kamalapur Railway Station that takes people to Chittagong. From Chittagong, there are many bus and jeep services that take people directly to the spot.

Accommodation and Food

In Bandarban, there are two rest houses established by the government for the comfort of the visitors. One may stay there through early preservation by contracting with the officials. You will find quality local and foreign foods in these rest houses. In the local markets, you will find many delicious foods make by the tribes which you must try out.

There are some private hotels and restaurants where you can stay as well. They are very cheap and affordable as well. You may choose to stay in

বান্দরবান শহর থেকে বান্দরবান-রুমা সড়কের ৮ কিলোমিটার পয়েন্টে প্রাকৃতিক ঝর্ণা ‘‘শৈলপ্রপাত’’ অবস্থিত। এটি প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের অপূর্ব সৃষ্টি। ঝর্ণার হিমশীতল পানি এখানে সর্বদা বহমান। ‘‘শৈলপ্রপাত’’ বান্দরবানের আকর্ষণীয়  পর্যটন স্পটের একটি। পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে ঝর্ণার পাড়ে পিকনিক করার উপযোগী পরিবেশ রয়েছে। শৈলপ্রপাতে গেলেই চোখে পড়বে বম উপজাতীয়দের জীবনধারা। তাদের হাতে বোনা চাদর, মাফলার, বেডশীটসহ বেত ও বাশেঁর তৈরী বিভিন্ন আসবাবপত্র ও তৈজসপত্র সহনীয় মূল্যে পাওয়া যায়। বম নারী-পুরুষেরা শৈলপ্রপাতকে ঘিরে এসব জিনিসের পসরা সাজিয়ে বসে। বমদের উৎপাদিত মৌসুমী ফলমূল এখানে সবসময় পাওয়া যায়।  রাস্তার পাশে শৈলপ্রপাতের অবস্থান হওয়ায় এখানে দেশী বিদেশী পর্যটকদের ভীড়ে  মুখরিত থাকে। বান্দরবান জেলা প্রশাসনের পরিচালনায় শৈলপ্রপাতে নির্মান করা হয়েছে পর্যটকদের জন্য আকর্ষণীয় বিভিন্ন স্থাপনা।

কিভাবে যাওয়া যায়: বান্দরবান শহর থেকে চান্দের গাড়ী, প্রাইভেট কার, বেবি টেক্সি যোগে শৈলপ্রপাত যাওয়া আসা করা যায়।কূল কূল শব্দে বয়ে চলা জলের স্বচ্ছ ও শীতল ধারা ঠিক কতকাল এমনি করে নিজেকে সপে দিচ্ছে তার খোঁজ রাখে না কেউ।

কতকালের ব্যথা-বেদনা নাকি কোন অভিমান নিয়ে উর্ধ্ব থেকে এমনি করে নিচে আত্মহননে শৈল প্রপাত হয়ে উঠেছে এ জলধারা তার আদিঅন্ত জানতে আগ্রহী নন পর্যটক বা প্রকৃতিপ্রেমীরা।তবুও এ জলপ্রপাতের নিরন্তর বয়ে চলা দেখতে বান্দরবানে প্রতিদিন আসছেন মানুষজন। তবে স্পটটির চারপাশের স্থাপনা জৌলুষ হারালেও আকর্ষণ আর গুরুত্ব দুই-ই বহাল আছে বান্দরবানের প্রথম পর্যটন স্পট শৈল প্রপাতের।

বান্দরবান-রুমা সড়কের পাশেই ফারুকপাড়া নামে এক এলাকায় সম্পূর্ণ প্রাকৃতিকভাবে তৈরি এ শীতল পানির প্রবাহ ঢালু পাথরের প্লেট দিয়ে গড়িয়ে নিচে পড়ছে।

প্রপাতের পানি খুবই স্বচ্ছ ও শীতল। প্রায় সারাবছরই প্রবাহ থাকলেও বর্ষাকালে এর প্রবাহ বাড়ে। তবে শীত ও বর্ষার সময়টাতে পর্যটকদের আনাগোনা বাড়ে।

এ প্রপাতের আশপাশের পাহাড়ে বসবাস বম সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষের। শৈল প্রপাতকে কেন্দ্র করে রাস্তার ধারে ও স্পটের পাশেই গড়ে উঠেছে একটি হস্তশিল্প ও কাপড়ের মার্কেট।
