বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে বড় শিমুল বাগান - তাহিরপুর,সুনামগঞ্জ

নদীর নাম যাদুকাটা। এর তীর ঘেঁষে ভারতীয় সীমান্ত লাগোয়া টিলাভূমি। নাম লাউরেরগড়। সুনামগঞ্জের তাহিরপুর উপজেলার লাউড়েরগড়ের বিশাল শিমুল বাগান হয়ে ওঠেছে পর্যটকদের নতুন আকর্ষন।



বসন্তে শিমুলের রক্তরাঙা সৌন্দর্য দেখতে দূর্গম পথ পাড়ি দিয়ে পর্যটকরা হাজির হচ্ছেন লাউড়ের গড়ে।



লাউড়েরঘর এলাকায় যাদুকাটা নদীর তীর ঘেঁষে বিস্তীর্ণ এক নান্দনিক সৌন্দর্যের বাগান। পুরো এলাকাজুড়ে টকটকে লাল শিমুল ফুল গাইছ বসন্তের জয়গান।



বাংলাদেশের যেকোন প্রান্ত থেকে সুনামগঞ্জ জেলা শহরে আসতে বেগ পেতে হবে না। সড়ক পথে প্রায় সবগুলো পরিবহনেরই বাস চালু আছে এখন। রেলপথে আসতে হলে প্রথমে সিলেট আসতে হবে, তারপর সিলেট থেকে মাইক্রো বা বাসে সুনামগঞ্জ।



সুনামগঞ্জ নেমে নতুন ব্রীজের গোড়াতেই মোটরবাইক পাওয়া যাবে। মোটর বাইক ছাড়া এ রাস্তায় অন্য কোনো বাহন পাওয়া যায় না তেমন। তবে রিজার্ভ করে নিলে প্রাইভেটকার বা মাইক্রো পাওয়া যায়। মোটর বাইকই নিরাপদ এবং আরামদায়ক, কারণ এই সড়কের অবস্থা খুবই খারাপ। মোটর বাইকে বারেকটিলা খেয়াঘাট (টেকেরঘাট) পর্যন্ত প্রতিজনের ভাড়া পড়বে ১০০ টাকা করে। দামাদামি করলে কিছু কমেও পাওয়া সম্ভব!



খেয়াঘাট থেকে নৌকায় যাদুকাটা পার হতে হবে, ভাড়া পড়বে জনপ্রতি ৫ টাকা। নৌকা থেকে নেমে টিলার রাস্তা ধরে কিছুটা ওপরে উঠলেই একটি ছোট বাজার। চায়ের দোকান আছে কিছু। বাজারের বাম দিকে কাঁচা রাস্তা ধরে গেলেই পৌঁছে যাবেন অপরুপ সৌন্দর্যমণ্ডিত শিমুলের বাগানে।



এখানে থাকার সুবিধা তেমন নেই বললেই চলে। তবুও একান্তই থাকতে চাইলে বড়ছড়া বাজারে একটি রেস্ট হাউজ আছে যেখানে ২০০-৪০০ টাকায় থাকা যায়। বারেক টিলা পাড় হয়েই বড়ছড়া বাজার। চাইলে টেকেরঘাট থেকে হেঁটেও আসতে পারবেন বড়ছড়া বাজারে। এছাড়াও লেকের পাশে বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া একটি চুনাপাথরের কারখানা আছে তার গেস্ট হাউজেও থাকতে পারবেন।

About 70 independence fighters were killed in a direct encounter with the Pakistan army on 15 June 1971, in front of the Sonapur Ahmadia School. Noakhali was liberated on 7 December 1971.
